When you look around, everyone either has their eyes on or their ears plugged into a cellphone.

I remember when I first went to South Korea and everyone was watching digital television while on the train. I remember thinking that that was strange at the time, because that was around 2007. But gradually, the technology that was commonplace in Asia almost a decade ago is starting to become commonplace, like in Canada and Australia.
How often do people look up anymore? Do people still have consversations on the trains?
